Started the day by waking up early to prepare myself for the journey after enjoying ‘high class’ facilities. Ate breakfast and ‘tumpang-ed’ one of the locals car to Kuala Krai.
Reached Kuala Krai in the afternoon and ‘lepak-ed’ around. Kuala Krai is kind of a dull place as there isn’t much to visit. Visited ‘Tangga Krai’ a.k.a. Bradley Stairs. Walked around kampung area to see their lifestyle. Saw two horses which looked really cool. Found a spot in which two wooden goal posts were made ‘in-symmetrically’ with grasses growing all over. Guess they play football using whatever they have; kids that is.
Also checked out man-made lakes near a zoo. Didn’t visit inside the zoo as a fee is required plus a zoo doesn’t seem to interest me much.
A really memorable incident is when I saw a blind couple walking around under the rain. Immediately walked over to them to help them. The lady was holding onto the man to lead the way whereas the man was using the walking stick as guidance.
They were heading towards KTM station which is within walking distance but still quite far away from where we were. Found out that they were coming from ‘pasar’ which is pretty far from the spot I found them. Surprised that nobody actually helped or saw them before that.
As if I’m not outstanding enough with my different attire, a big backpack, and a bald head, now I’m walking with two blind person and a walking stick. Everyone was staring. A lady gave her umbrella to the blind man on the way as I only have a raincoat folded to shelter his head. All in all, feels weird that the usual satisfaction of helping isn’t there. Probably was disappointed in how others didn’t help.
Followed the same car to Tanah Merah. Reached and she ‘belanja-ed’ me again (besides lunch at Kuala Krai) because she was paranoid about my welfare later on. Walked around looking for accommodation as it’s getting late. Found a nice guy and living in ‘kampung’ style now which I’m not used to yet but all in all, it’s great. Taxi caused an interest to Dikir Barat. Realized rain is trouble.
